This is a question that comes up often, the answer is that there is no good and bad season.

The weather in Koh Chang is more complicated than a high dry and sunny season and a sad and rainy low season.

Here is a monthly overview of the weather / touristic influx in Koh Chang :

  • February – Mars : very nice weather overall. Some occasional showers.Touristic High Season. Steady touristic load but less important than the peak season in Dec/Jan.
  • April / May : hot, hot, very hot. Thunderstorms at the end of the day and rain intermittently. Touristic Mid Season. n. The famous Songkran Festival marks the end of the high season.
  • June : Temperatures drop to reasonable levels. High rainfall in general.Low season. Beaches are literally empty.
  • July / August : quite mild weather overall with showers during the day (sometimes whole days) and thunderstorms in the evening. Holidays in Europe : the attendance bounces, without ever reaching the high season levels. Still considered as Low season.
  • September – mid October : rains become more frequent and intense (especially in September) and sometimes spread over several days without stopping.Low season. September is a very quiet month in Koh Chang.
  • October to Mid December : the beautiful season settles progressively. The rains are more rare. Touristic High Season starts around mid November.
  • Mid December to End of January a near certainty of good weather and cooler evenings. Touristic Peak Season. The islands gets very busy.
